Terms of Service
Last updated September 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and the person or organization that operates this instance of ScribeFlow (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using ScribeFlow, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ScribeFlow.
These documents are provided so you can make an informed choice. They are not a substitute for advice from a lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction.
1. Who we are and what ScribeFlow is
ScribeFlow is software that turns lecture recordings or transcripts into study materials such as notes, quizzes, and flashcards. It may run on a computer you control or on a server someone else operates. There is no separate corporate privacy office, customer-support desk, or insurance program unless the operator of this instance tells you otherwise in writing.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use ScribeFlow only with a parent or guardian’s consent. You may not use ScribeFlow if you are barred from doing so under applicable law. Do not upload material you are not allowed to process, including confidential school records, health information, or other people’s personal data without a lawful basis.
3. Accounts and sign-in
ScribeFlow may offer Google Sign-In and a local test sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account. Local test sign-in is for development and is not an identity-verified account. We may suspend or delete accounts at any time.
4. Your content
You retain whatever rights you already have in recordings, transcripts, notes, quizzes, flashcards, and other material you submit (“User Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display User Content solely to operate ScribeFlow for you, including sending it to third-party processors you enable (for example speech-to-text or drafting models). You represent that you have all rights needed to grant this license.
5. AI-generated output
Notes, quizzes, flashcards, and other drafts may be produced by automated systems. They can be incomplete, wrong, or misleading. They are not academic credit, medical advice, legal advice, or an official transcript. You must review output before you rely on it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe others’ rights;
- upload malware or attempt to probe, disrupt, or overload the service;
- bypass authentication or access another user’s history;
- use ScribeFlow to generate harmful, exploitative, or deceptive content;
- scrape, resell, or republish the service except as these Terms allow;
- treat ScribeFlow as a secure vault, FERPA-compliant education record system, HIPAA system, or PCI environment.
7. No security; as-is service
ScribeFlow is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the service is secure, confidential, uninterrupted, or error-free. History, transcripts, and generated notes may be stored in ordinary files or browser storage without encryption at rest, without access logging you can audit, and without a dedicated security program. Anyone with access to the machine or database that hosts this instance may be able to read your material. Do not use ScribeFlow for secrets, exam embargoes, medical data, payment card data, or anything you cannot afford to have leaked, lost, or altered.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
8. Third-party services
If a live processing key is configured, audio and transcript text may be sent to third-party model providers. If you use Google Sign-In, Google’s terms and privacy policy also apply. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, or how they handle data.
9. Intellectual property
ScribeFlow’s software, design, and trademarks remain ours or our licensors’. These Terms do not sell you the software. Feedback you send may be used without obligation to you.
10. Privacy and cookies
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. Cookie and local-storage use is described in the Cookie Policy. Change non-essential storage anytime via Cookie preferences in the footer.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of confidentiality, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim arising out of ScribeFlow will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for ScribeFlow in the three months before the claim, or (b) fifty Canadian dollars (CAD $50). Some places do not allow certain limits; in those places our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, and expenses arising from your User Content, your use of ScribeFlow, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using ScribeFlow at any time. We may suspend or terminate access at any time, including if we believe you violated these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4–12, 14–16) will survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using ScribeFlow.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer law in your place of residence says otherwise. Courts located in Canada will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you the right to sue where you live.
16. Miscellaneous
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about ScribeFlow. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a transfer of the service. Headings are for convenience only.
17. Contact
There is no dedicated legal department. If you operate your own instance, you are the contact for that instance. You can stop processing by signing out, deleting History items, clearing this browser’s site data, and discontinuing use.
